The car waits at every stop
What is an hourly chauffeur service?
An hourly chauffeur service, also called as-directed service, reserves one car and one professional chauffeur for a block of hours. The car waits at each stop and goes where you direct it, at a rate agreed before the day starts.
It suits days where the plan is a list, not a route. Meetings in Center City at nine and eleven, lunch on the Main Line, a flight out of PHL at five. Booked one way at a time, that’s four rides and four waits. But by the hour, the car is already outside.
A minimum number of hours applies, and it depends on the date and the vehicle. Our team confirms the minimum and the rate in your quote, so the whole day is priced before it starts.
- The same car all day
- Chauffeur waits at each stop
- Plans can change on the day
- Sedans, SUVs and vans
- Rate agreed in advance
- Our team on call 24/7
Hourly or point to point: which should you book?
Two ways to book the same car. The right one depends on how much of the day the car would spend parked, waiting for you.
| Hourly chauffeur | Point to point | |
|---|---|---|
| How it is priced | By the hour, with a minimum | One fixed price per trip |
| Waiting at stops | Covered by the hours you book | Each leg is booked as its own ride |
| Changing the plan | Add or move stops on the day | Changes up to 6 hours before pickup |
| Bags and shopping | Stay in the car between stops | Travel with you every leg |
| Best for | Meeting days, weddings, events, tours | Airport runs and single trips |
Hourly isn’t always the cheaper option. Rule of thumb: three or more stops, or stops shorter than an hour, and hourly is usually simpler than booking each leg.
What do people book an hourly chauffeur for?
Any day with more than one stop and a clock running.
Business meeting days
Several addresses, one car. The chauffeur waits outside each meeting, and the next leg starts when you walk out.
Weddings
A car for the couple for the whole day, waiting through the ceremony and the photos. See wedding transportation.
Games and concerts
Dropped at the venue, collected after. Easier than finding a ride with a stadium crowd. See event transportation.
City tours
Independence Hall, the Museum of Art steps, Reading Terminal Market. Stay as long as you like at each one. See city tours.
Shopping days
King of Prussia, Rittenhouse Row, Cherry Hill. The bags go in the trunk and stay there.
Nights out
Dinner, drinks and a show, with nobody stuck as the designated driver. See nights out.

What hourly passengers say.
Quoted word for word from our Google Business Profile.
Atip was kind and courteous. We were able to schedule a Black Car SUV on very short notice. They showed up early and were waiting for us when we got out of our play. Excellent service!
On our recent family trip in Philadelphia. We have booked a reservation with Black Car Philly which gave us the most amazing black car transportation experience. Definitely recommend it!
I recently used Black Car Philly for a business trip, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The driver was punctual, courteous, and the car was impeccably clean and comfortable.
